The Rebecca Chronicles – Amazon 5 Star Reviews:

It would be easy for me to tell you how fabulous the Rebecca series is.

Don’t take my word for it, here are some of the many 5-stars reviews from across the globe.

Volume 1:

Star Traveller

A treasure-box of curiosity, time and history

20 March 2018

This is a modern treasure-box of curiosity, time and history, all connected to an intrepid, young woman named Rebecca.

“Bex” is destined to seek the answer to the mystery surrounding the manor house she’s just moved into with her brother, mother and father. Her character was the most developed as, an artist, a dreamer and believers in magical, woodland creatures.

It is a classic mystery, written in the style of the original Nancy Drew series. I was delighted when it produced a surge of nostalgia for this wonderful, story-telling style.

A moody, crumbling manor house setting in the British countryside is one of my favourite places to visit in a story, while the ghostly mist on the lake enhanced my experience. Then meeting the troublesome brother Bex openly calls “Twit” made me laugh out loud, sibling rivalry- oh yes! So many other thoughtful details brought me closer to the main character with a light, but Gothic touch of mystery and the unknown. I was unsure until the very end how Bex would handle the eerie and strange, events leading up to her incredible discovery of what was really happening.

I highly recommend this lovely story to readers of all ages, especially to those who have always wondered what it might be like to unlock an ancient door and realise there is far more to the mysteries of life, than any of us might possibly imagine.

A fascinating and unique story line

5 May 2019

The author Davis pressed all the right buttons for enticing me to read the story of Rebecca. A character who is real for him, as all good story-tellers should have a deep passion for the world’s they create.
The MC has a vivid imagination and strong beliefs that all things are possible. Her open mind is an essential tool enabling her to delve into the unknown in a charming way.
Rebecca is true to herself, wise beyond her years and fits very nicely in the old soul category of life.
When her family moves to a rambling mansion she initially doesn’t want to leave her family home, but, very soon, she realises she is ‘going home’. This young lady has work to do which will affect the outcome of many generations, including her own.
Discover what the spiral staircase is in a world where all things are possible. With many twists and turns, I recommend this book for all readers of middle-grade age to adult. A page turner and someone to watch if you’re looking for a great read!

A magical staircase, mysterious time-shifts, and a possible murder – I loved the book!

24 February 2018

‘Rebecca & the Spiral Staircase’ is a great read for teenagers, young adults, and anyone who still views the natural world through wondering eyes!
I love Rebecca! She has such a vibrant, inquisitive personality, sense of humour, & strength of character, but she’s also flawed & fallible, which makes her feel real. The story itself is great. The whole concept of the spiral staircase with its locked doors is awesome & works brilliantly. I’ve always thought there was something magical/mystical about spiral staircases anyway & the author has admirably captured both those qualities here.
Although this story works perfectly well as a standalone book, with a satisfying conclusion, I was delighted to discover Stephen M Davis has written a sequel – I can’t wait to discover more of Rebecca’s story.
I thoroughly recommend this book! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! 🙂

A good enthralling read

28 November 2017

This book had me captured from the beginning. It is so easy to read. If you’re like me and read in bed it is great having chapters that are short enough to get to the end of before you sleep. Nothing more infuriating than finishing mid chapter! I felt I was in Rebecca’s shoes as I read it. The way it is written makes it easy to picture just how the characters feel and act. I was willing her in to the next bit of her adventure. It wove a tale of child like curiosity and teenage inquisitiveness and independence. Rebecca has guts but it also smart beyond her years. If you want a story with some unexpected twists and turns, that is compulsive and uplifting then this is for you. A great read for teenagers and adults with an open mind. Looking forward to the next instalment!

Fascinating sequel to the first book

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 May 2019

Rebecca continues her journey from her teens into young womanhood. Again, she has to travel back in time for many different reasons. All of which have the purpose of righting wrongs and keeping destiny on track, even if that has some unfavourable consequences.
There is something endearing about the characters which keeps you reading, page turning and addicted.
I’m glad there is a hint at book three! Right up my street. I recommend a reading age of ten-adult.

Wonderful twist of time travel or imagination

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 September 2018

Rebecca is a very life like character who takes you by the hand through her journeys into the unknown. She has a confidence and self-assurance which gets you right behind her. The imagination of the author is wonderful and the vocabulary used often heart-warming. It certainly stimulates your thought process surrounding Rebecca’s endeavours and opens your mind to the possibilities and leads on to Rebecca’s book of fairies, pixies, elves and other amazing things which is truly delightful together with its illustrations.

Fantastic end to a wonderful trilogy

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 August 2019

I was given this book to read as an ARC reader and to leave an honest review…
Having read the first two books in this trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed them, I was very much looking forward to reading Beyond All Reason: A Greener Planet with great anticipation – and it didn’t disappoint! What a wonderful book with a very timely message. Stephen M. Davis is an absolutely gifted story teller. Rebecca is not a one-dimensional character in a book; Stephen has managed to get into the head of a young girl/woman and given her life. She is funny, witty, lovable and clever. Her adventures through time to eventually save our planet are engrossing and very believable in the way Stephen writes. I can’t recommend this author and his books highly enough they will appeal to a wide age range and for male/female readers alike. I dare you to read the Rebecca trilogy and not enjoy them. Well done Stephen.

Angela Smith

Fantastic, Magical and beautifully written

A fantastic last book in the series. How the hell the author kept track of everything and wove it all together beautifully is amazing, I just loved it and Rebecca and will miss her, can’t wait to see what the author does next I’ll definitely be reading it.

Impressed with the creativity and imagination!

Reviewed in India on 9 August 2019

The author Stephen Davis flies at much higher imaginative altitude compared to many others who write fiction. This story on time is sure to stand the test of time. The author’s concern for nature is neatly packaged with a story with such a natural flow with unnatural twists and knots. Makes Rebecca an interesting read.

The author has made this an interesting read as a stand-alone if you hadn’t read the prequels. The rich narrative and expressions make the readers visualize and get mesmerized!
